While “The Media Would Rather Pretend Conservative Women Don’t Exist,” here at The Conservateur, we would like to highlight the role models that we look to for personal, political, and professional guidance. The truth of the matter is this— conservative women are an inconvenient truth to the feminist movement. “If the Left was truly feminist,” they would want “to truly grant women their own volition and have more female leaders in society, and they would support women aiming for leadership positions in all fields and movements.” Instead, Conservative women are left off of lists such as “15 Trailblazers On What History Books Will Say About Women’s Activism in 2018”, Glamour’s 2017 “Women of the Year Awards,” and Cosmopolitan’s “7 Women Who Could Be Our First Female President.” Despite the biased, feminist narrative the media peddles, conservative women are brave, courageous, unwavering, and unwilling to let the Left win by forfeit. By just showing up, conservative women fight for our place in the conversation, giving our ideas legitimacy— whether the media and fourth-wave feminism like it or not. We owe much of our courage to these women, who could have easily forgone the limelight, but instead, chose to forge on ahead.

Without further ado, here are nine conservative women who inspire us and countless other women everyday. These women deserve recognition and should be celebrated across more computer screens and magazine pages.

Ivanka Trump

Trump has served as a Senior Advisor to the President since 2017 and is a well-known businesswoman, formerly serving as the Executive Vice President of the Trump Organization. Trump is also an author of several books, including Women Who Work: Rewriting the Rules for Success. In the Trump Administration, she advocated for women at the first W20 Women’s Summit, spearheaded the U.S. delegation to India in support of women’s entrepreneurship, and went on a worldwide tour in 2019 to promote her “Women’s Global Development and Prosperity Initiative.” Some of Ivanka’s accolades include being featured in Fortune magazine’s prestigious “40 Under 40” list (2014) as well as being honored as a “Young Global Leader” by the World Economic Forum in 2015. Since The Apprentice, Trump is known to have her father’s ear, and has been instrumental in his Administration.

Condolezza Rice

Rice is an American diplomat, civil servant, and professor who served as the 66th U.S. Secretary of State (2005 to 2009) in George W. Bush’s Administration, and served as Bush’s National Security Advisor (2001 to 2005). She is the first black woman to serve as a U.S. National Security Adviser, as well as the first black woman to serve as U.S. Secretary of State. Additionally, Rice worked at the State Department in the Carter Administration and served on the National Security Council as the Soviet and Eastern Europe Affairs Advisor to President George H.W. Bush (1989 to 1991). From pursuing a fellowship at Stanford University to pioneering policy in transformational diplomacy, Rice has continually forged a path for women in politics.

Dana Perino

Perino is an American political commentator and author. Perino rose to fame when she served as the second female White House Press Secretary to President George W. Bush (2007-2009). Currently, Perino is a political commentator for Fox News and a co-host of the talk show The Five, as well as a book publishing executive at Random House. Since 2017, Perino hosts her own show The Daily Briefing with Dana Perino on Fox News. She is known for her intelligence, grace, fair reporting, and her love of her dog, Jasper.

Nikki Haley

Haley is an American diplomat, businesswoman, author, and politician. Some of her past positions include serving as a South Carolina State Legislator, the Governor of South Carolina, and the U.S. Ambassador to the UN for the Trump Administration. While serving as the UN Ambassador, Haley earned a reputation for her outspoken views— she boldly condemned Iran and North Korea, and courageously supported Israel. Her political career has been one of facing and defeating more experienced candidates while campaigning on a pro-American platform. She is also the author of two books: Can’t Is Not an Option: My American Story and With All Due Respect: Defending America with Grit and Grace. Haley is a strong, outspoken supporter of conservative values and President Trump. Since leaving her ambassadorship, she founded Stand for America, an advocacy group that promotes conservative values and American prosperity. Many speculate Haley may run for President in 2024, and The Conservateur is in full support!

Kayleigh McEnany

McEnany is an American political commentator and author, serving as the 31st and current White House Press Secretary since April 2020. She began her media career upon graduating from Georgetown and Harvard, working for Huckabee on Fox News, and later working for CNN as a commentator. McEnany was appointed National Spokesperson for the Republican National Committee in 2017 and became the White House Press Secretary this year. She has earned a stellar reputation on the podium, by calling out and debunking the media’s misinformation. McEnany has become an iconic part of the Trump Administration and never waivers when coming to Trump’s defense. In the face of unrelenting criticism and hostility, she stays strong and never backs down.

Candace Owens

Owens has risen to fame in the last year as a prominent conservative voice. She is an American conservative commentator and political activist who proudly supports President Trump while remaining a fierce critic of the Democratic Party. She is never afraid to say what’s on her mind or in her heart— just check out a few of her youtube videos on her channel, Red Pill Black. She worked as the Communications Director for Turning Point USA (2017-2019) and currently hosts “The Candace Owens Show” for Prager U. Owens created the “Blexit movement,” a social media campaign to encourage African Americans to abandon the Democratic Party, and has found great success in rallying black support for President Trump. President Trump noted that Owens “is having a big impact on politics in our country. She represents an ever-expanding group of very smart thinkers, and it is wonderful to watch and hear the dialogue going on… so good for our country.” We are inspired by Owen’s passion, confidence, and courage to stand against mob-mentality.

Marsha Blackburn

The U.S. Senator Marsha Blackburn was sworn into the Senate in January 2019 and is currently serving her first term representing the state of Tennessee. Prior to her election to the Senate, Blackburn represented Tennessee’s 7th Congressional District. From working as one of the first female Sales Associates at Southwestern Company to put herself through school, to later becoming one of the company’s first female Sales Managers, Blackburn exhibits how hard work and dedication pay-off. Blackburn has also worked as Director of Retail Fashion and Special Events for the Castner Knott Company, and later founded her own business, Marketing Strategies, which focused on the retail marketplace. Blackburn began her career in public service in the late 1990s, where she quickly earned a reputation for fiscal responsibility and government accountability. Her work as a Congresswoman earned her a reputation of leading the charge for principled conservatism by her colleagues.

Elise Stefanik

Congresswoman Elise Stefanik represents New York’s 21st District in the House of Representatives, and she is currently serving her third term in office. She serves as the youngest Republican woman ever elected to Congress. Before her election to Congress, Stefanik worked at her family’s small business, where she learned the values of hard work, perseverance, and risk-and-reward that form the backbone of the U.S. economy. Congresswoman Stefanik is passionate about economic opportunities for small businesses, protecting and advocating for veterans, and improving education. She previously served as Director of Vice Presidential Debate Prep to Paul Ryan and as Director of Communications for the Foreign Policy Initiative. Stefanik also served as one of President George W. Bush’s Domestic Policy Council Staff, where she assisted in overseeing development on domestic policy. As a first-generation college graduate, she graduated with Honors from Harvard University. She is currently involved in the Senior Advisory Committee of Harvard’s Institute of Politics, the largest political undergraduate organization. Stefanik is a woman to watch— we can’t wait to see where her career takes her next!

Kellyanne Conway

Other former roles include working as a campaign manager and strategist in the Republican Party as well as being the President and CEO of the Polling Company, Inc./WomanTrend. As of 2017, Conway was appointed to overseeing White House efforts to combat the opioid epidemic— one of President Trump’s critical issues. Conway has faced significant backlash throughout her very public career in politics. However, she never backs down from an interview at any news network.
