SUMMER STYLE GUIDE

As the temperatures rise and the days grow longer, we should refresh our wardrobes with pieces that effortlessly blend style and comfort. This summer, we’re embracing natural textures, breathable fabrics, and playful accessories. From the timelessness of linen, to the charm of crochet, to the versatility of denim, our selections will keep you looking and feeling cool.

Linen is the epitome of summer sophistication. As a Texas girl, I can attest that it being lightweight and breathable makes it ideal for the scorching heat. Whether you opt for a breezy linen dress, a tailored linen vest, or relaxed linen pants, this fabric exudes effortless elegance. Wear a bold red or classic neutrals for a look that transitions seamlessly from day to night. Reformation has all of my favorite linen pieces this season that are perfect for a Sunday by the pool or strolling the streets of St. Tropez.

Add a touch of bohemian to your summer closet with crochet. From delicate tops to intricately woven dresses, crochet adds texture and visual appeal to any outfit. Zimmermann and Staud both have stand out knits this season. Of course, the OG of colorful, luxe crochet, Missoni, dazzles every summer. Dabble in vibrant colors and playful patterns for a fun and eclectic look that captures the essence of summer and gets you outside your comfort zone!

Denim is a perennial favorite that never goes out of style. This summer, experiment with different denim silhouettes and washes to elevate your look. While denim as a base is always a great go-to, and leans into the capsule wardrobe, don’t be afraid to go full Canadian Tuxedo! Recently I have leaned into full denim looks. I picked up this Shona Joy set to wear all summer. Like linen, denim can go from day to night with the right shoes and accessories. Trade the flats for a strappy heel and the sunglasses for statement earrings and you’re ready for rooftop drinks.

No summer outfit is complete without the perfect accessories. Oversized straw hats and shell-shaped clutches create a beach-ready aesthetic. Summer motifs like sardines, palms, and crustaceans are trending year. Staud has certainly capitalized on the mediterranean. A printed bucket hat not only adds a touch of color but also provides much-needed shade on sunny days, while a shell-shaped clutch adds an organic splash of seaside to your ensemble. Statement sunglasses add a touch of glamour, and Loewe does statement best. Whatever accessories you add, make them dramatic, bold, and bright!
