Comfy, Cozy Chic

There’s no need to sacrifice comfort for style this season. The advent of the loungewear trend has brought luxury to relaxation. Easy yet elegant, soft yet sophisticated, loungewear is effortless but oh-so-chic. The key to mastering the cozy, comfy look this winter is styling. Color coordination, layering, and accessorizing make all the difference. Whether you’re sitting in your kids’ carpool line or shopping in SoHo, elevate your casual style with our comfy, cozy chic style guide.

MONOCHROMATIC

There’s nothing chicer than a monochromatic outfit. Cream, gray, and chocolate brown palettes are especially in this season. Bonus points if you match your accessories with your monochromatic look.

KNIT SETS

Knit sets are the ultimate loungewear look. They are just as comfy as your pajamas, but rival any streetwear style trend. Matching sets are simple and casual, yet can be dressed up with some heels and accessories. A sweater and pant combo will do the trick, but a maxi skirt set is next level.

SWEATERS

Sweaters for winter? Groundbreaking… But hear me out — Investing in the right sweaters makes all the difference. This winter, make sure you have a nipped-waist cardigan and oversized turtleneck in cream, gray, or brown. These staples are timeless and have a lot of versatility. They are the base of your winter wardrobe.

DUSTER COATS

Nothing elevates a winter outfit quite like a duster coat. Which makes it the perfect layer for loungewear. Sweatshirt? Leggings? Joggers? Throw on a duster coat and take your look from disheveled to dapper instantaneously.

SWEATER DRESSES

Similar to knit sets, sweater dresses are the foolproof way to keep your style comfy, yet chic, this winter. Pair with a coat, scarf, and knee-high boots, and you’re set for any event or occasion.

FUR COATS

Trendsetters are saying fur coats are officially back in and bigger than ever, so we’re channeling Carrie Bradshaw and Carmela Soprano this season. While a simple fur coat is très magnifique, if you’re into an edgier look, try a leather sherpa coat.

PAJAMA PANTS

If you’ve visited Copenhagen or Stockholm in the last few months, you may have seen women walking the streets in pajama pants. You can never go wrong when it comes to Scandinavian style. The boxer pants have landed in America! The best part is this trend can easily transition to summer style with the shorts version.

SCARVES

While I’ve mentioned many ways to step up your style this season, the easiest and most cost-efficient way to do so is the scarf. Not only are scarves very chic, but as a Californian, East Coast transplant I have found them to be far more important than a cute accessory!
